High-Performance Coating Systems
Efficiency in the finishing booth is critical for maintaining a profitable production schedule. We provide primers and lacquers that feature consistent viscosity and excellent flow-out, reducing the time spent on sanding between coats and minimizing the risk of surface defects. By sourcing your finishing supplies alongside your sheet goods and hardware, you benefit from a consolidated supply chain that ensures material compatibility across your entire project. Our focus is on providing the professional-grade liquids that allow your shop to deliver a consistent, high-end aesthetic on every piece of cabinetry you manufacture.
A high-quality finish begins with a superior foundation. Our industrial primers are designed to provide exceptional hide and rapid sandability, allowing you to level the substrate and seal the grain with fewer applications. These primers offer excellent adhesion to a wide variety of materials, including MDF and solid wood, preventing moisture absorption and ensuring a stable base for the final topcoat. Whether you are prepping for a high-gloss solid color or a traditional stained look, our primers provide the structural integrity needed to prevent grain raise and ensure a uniform appearance across the entire installation.
Explore the CollectionOur professional lacquers are engineered to provide a hard, protective surface that resists yellowing, scratching, and household chemicals. These coatings are available in a range of sheen levels, from dead flat to high gloss, allowing you to meet the specific design requirements of any commercial or residential project. With advanced formulations that provide fast "stack times," these lacquers allow your shop to move finished components into packaging and shipping faster. This durability ensures that your cabinetry maintains its beauty and structural integrity even in high-traffic environments where surfaces are frequently cleaned and handled.

Proper application techniques and environmental controls are essential for achieving a successful finish. Below are answers to common technical questions regarding our industrial lacquers and primers.
For optimal flow and curing, the temperature in your finishing booth should be maintained between 18°C and 25°C. Temperatures that are too low can cause the finish to "blush" or stay soft, while excessive heat can lead to "solvent pop" or dry spray. Maintaining a consistent temperature ensures that the coating levels correctly and cures to its full hardness within the specified timeframe.
Most of our industrial solvent-based lacquers can be applied over water-based stains once the stain has fully dried. It is critical to ensure that no moisture remains in the wood fibers, as this can lead to adhesion failure or cloudiness in the finish. Always perform a test sample on a scrap piece of the same substrate to verify compatibility and color accuracy before proceeding with the full project.
Due to the absorbent nature of MDF edges, we typically recommend two coats of high-build primer. The first coat acts as a sealer to close the pores of the material, while the second coat provides the build necessary for a perfectly level sanding surface. Sanding thoroughly between coats is essential to achieve the smooth, mirror-like finish required for high-end painted cabinetry.
Pre-catalyzed lacquers are supplied with the catalyst already added and offer a long shelf life with good durability for most residential applications. Post-catalyzed lacquers require the addition of a catalyst at the shop level and provide significantly higher chemical and moisture resistance, making them the preferred choice for commercial projects, laboratory casework, and high-use kitchen cabinetry.
Blushing occurs when moisture becomes trapped in the finish as the solvents evaporate too quickly. This can be prevented by adding a specialized lacquer retarder to the mix, which slows down the drying time and allows the moisture to escape before the film sets. Ensuring proper ventilation and humidity control in your spray booth is also vital for maintaining finish clarity during humid weather conditions.
