Industrial Grade Timber

Sourcing Consistent Quality for High-Volume Woodworking

Reliability in raw materials is essential for maintaining a profitable production schedule. We provide hardwood lumber that is kiln-dried to precise standards, minimizing the risks of warping, checking, or movement after the project is installed. Our lumber is graded to meet or exceed industry standards, ensuring that your shop receives the best possible clear-face yields with minimal waste. By sourcing your hardwoods through our integrated supply chain, you benefit from a consolidated procurement process that pairs your solid timber with matching veneered plywood and edgebanding, ensuring a uniform finish across every component of your build.

Domestic Species

High-Quality North American Hardwoods for Traditional Craftsmanship

Our inventory includes a comprehensive range of domestic hardwoods, including White Oak, Walnut, Hard Maple, Cherry, and Poplar. These species are the staples of the North American cabinetry industry, valued for their strength, workability, and diverse grain patterns. We ensure that our domestic lumber is sourced from sustainably managed forests and processed to maintain the color consistency required for large-scale projects. Whether you need the rugged durability of Oak or the smooth, paint-ready surface of Poplar, our domestic selection provides the reliable foundation needed for everything from commercial fixtures to luxury residential interiors.

Technical Guidance for Hardwood Lumber Processing

Achieving a stable and beautiful result with solid wood requires careful attention to moisture and machining techniques. Below are answers to common questions regarding our hardwood lumber products.

Kiln-drying reduces the moisture content of the wood to a stable level, typically between 6% and 8%, which is ideal for interior environments. This process kills any pests and sets the pitch in the wood, significantly reducing the likelihood of the timber shrinking, expanding, or warping once it has been machined into finished cabinetry or millwork.

Select and Better is the highest grade of hardwood lumber, intended for applications where long, clear cuts are required. Choosing S&B grade ensures that you receive the highest percentage of defect-free wood, which maximizes your shop's yield and reduces the labor time spent cutting around knots or cracks. This is the industry standard for high-end face frames, doors, and visible moldings.

Yes, we highly recommend allowing hardwood lumber to acclimate to your shop's specific environment for at least 48 to 72 hours before machining. This allows the wood to reach equilibrium with the local humidity, ensuring that your joints stay tight and your panels remain flat after they are cut and assembled.

While many professional shops prefer to mill their own lumber from rough stock to ensure maximum precision, we provide various surfacing options to save you time. S2S (Surfaced Two Sides) provides a consistent thickness while leaving the edges rough for your rip saw, while S4S (Surfaced Four Sides) provides a board that is ready for immediate use in many assembly applications.

Because wood is a natural product, variations in color and grain are expected. To achieve the best match, it is a best practice to source your solid lumber and veneered plywood from the same supplier at the same time. This increases the likelihood that the materials were sourced from similar regions or growth cycles, ensuring a more cohesive look once the final stain or clear coat is applied in your finishing booth.
