Secure Mounting Solutions

Bridging the Gap Between Fabrication and Permanent Installation

On-site efficiency is just as critical as shop production speed. We provide installation screws that feature self-drilling tips and high-torque drives to speed up the mounting process and reduce the need for specialized anchors in many substrates. These fasteners are selected for their ability to pull cabinets tight to the wall without snapping or stripping, even when driving into dense framing lumber. By sourcing your installation screws alongside your core cabinetry components, you maintain a consistent supply of the heavy-duty hardware needed to complete every job with total confidence in the structural integrity of the final mount.

Load-Bearing Performance

Superior Shear Strength for Heavy Commercial and Residential Units

Our installation screws are manufactured from hardened steel to provide the shear strength necessary to support upper cabinets and tall pantry units. Unlike standard construction screws, these fasteners feature a larger diameter shank and specialized threading that provides a massive amount of holding power in wood studs. This prevents the sagging or shifting that can occur over time as cabinets are filled with heavy contents. For installers working in commercial environments, this reliability is essential for ensuring that every unit remains level and plumb throughout years of heavy daily use.

Specialized Head Designs

Clean Aesthetics and Maximum Torque for Flush Mounting

To achieve a professional interior finish, our installation screws often feature washer-style or large-diameter heads that distribute pressure across the cabinet back, preventing the fastener from pulling through the material. These heads are designed to sit low-profile or accept color-matched caps, ensuring that the hardware does not distract from the high-quality finish of your cabinetry. Utilizing Torx or Square drive systems, these screws allow installers to apply maximum pressure without fear of cam-out, which is vital when working in the tight confines of a cabinet box or when reaching into deep corner units.

Technical Guidance for Secure Cabinet Installation

Selecting the right length and type of installation screw is vital for safety and project longevity. Below are common questions regarding our cabinet installation fasteners.

For standard cabinetry with a 12mm to 18mm back, we typically recommend a 65mm to 75mm (2.5 to 3 inch) installation screw. This provides sufficient penetration through the cabinet back and the drywall to anchor deeply into the center of the wall stud, ensuring a secure, load-bearing connection that can support the weight of the cabinet and its contents.

Washer-head screws (sometimes called cabinet screws) are highly recommended for installation because the flat underside of the head provides a larger surface area. This prevents the screw from crushing or pulling through the relatively thin back of the cabinet, which is a common failure point when using standard bugle-head drywall or construction screws.

While our standard installation screws are optimized for wood framing, we offer specialized self-tapping versions designed specifically for light-gauge metal studs. It is important to use the correct thread pitch for metal to ensure the fastener creates a secure mechanical bond rather than stripping out the thin metal flange of the stud.

A general rule for professional installers is to use at least four screws for a standard upper cabinet, with two screws anchored into each of two different studs. For wider units or those intended for heavy storage, additional fasteners should be placed in the top and bottom hanging rails to distribute the load and prevent the cabinet from bowing or pulling away from the wall.

Pre-drilling a clearance hole in the cabinet back is a best practice as it allows the screw to pull the cabinet tight to the wall without the threads engaging the cabinet material itself. This ensures a "draw-down" effect, where the screw head applies pressure directly to the back of the cabinet, resulting in a much tighter and more stable fit against the wall surface.
