Natural Wood Aesthetics
Consistency in grain and color is the foundation of high-end woodworking. We provide veneered plywood sheets that are carefully graded to ensure uniform appearance across multiple panels, reducing the time spent on grain matching in the shop. These panels are selected for their flat-laying characteristics and consistent thickness, ensuring they perform reliably on your CNC or table saw. By sourcing your veneered goods through our integrated supply chain, you gain access to a wide variety of domestic and exotic species, allowing you to meet the specific design requirements of any premium commercial or residential project.
The quality of a veneered panel is only as good as the core beneath it. Our veneered plywood features high-quality veneer cores or MDF cross-banded cores designed to minimize warping and telegraphing. This internal stability is crucial for large-scale cabinet doors and wall paneling where flat surfaces are non-negotiable. For the professional shop, this means fewer rejects and a more predictable manufacturing process. Whether you are building bespoke office furniture or high-traffic commercial fixtures, our stable cores ensure that your finished products maintain their integrity and appearance long after the installation is complete.

Working with natural wood veneers requires specific care to prevent damage and ensure a flawless finish. Below are answers to common questions regarding our veneered plywood sheets.
Rotary cut veneer is peeled from the log like a roll of paper, resulting in a wide, variegated grain pattern that is often used for secondary surfaces or painted work. Plain sliced (or flat cut) veneer is sliced across the log, producing a grain pattern similar to solid lumber with a "cathedral" effect. Plain sliced is the preferred choice for high-end cabinetry where a natural, solid-wood appearance is desired for the visible faces of the project.
Most modern face veneers are between 0.5mm and 0.6mm thick, leaving very little room for aggressive sanding. To prevent sanding through to the core, we recommend using a light touch with fine-grit abrasives (150-180 grit) and avoiding excessive pressure near the edges of the panel. Utilizing a random orbital sander with a soft interface pad can also help maintain even pressure and protect the integrity of the natural wood surface.
Yes, acclimating panels to your shop's environment is vital for preventing warping and checking. We recommend storing the sheets flat on a pallet in the shop for at least 48 hours before cutting. This allows the moisture content of the veneer and the core to stabilize, ensuring that the panels remain flat and that your joints stay tight throughout the assembly and finishing process.
While standard veneered plywood is rigid, we offer specialized "bendy" or flexible plywood substrates with veneers for curved applications. For slight curves, standard panels can sometimes be kerf-cut on the back, but for tight radii, it is best to use a dedicated flexible core to avoid cracking the face veneer. Always verify the minimum bending radius of the specific panel before attempting a curved installation.
Because it is natural wood, veneered plywood accepts stains and clear coats beautifully. To highlight the grain, many professionals use a grain filler or a "wash coat" of sealer before staining to ensure uniform absorption. Always use a high-quality industrial lacquer or polyurethane topcoat to protect the veneer from moisture and wear, ensuring the longevity of the decorative surface in high-use environments.
