McFadden’s was incorporated in 1965 as distributors of architectural panelling and building materials. Over the years, our guiding corporate goal has been to provide value to our customers by providing outstanding service and quality products.
In the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, McFadden’s introduced hardware items to our product lines, keeping quality and usefulness in mind. The introduction of hardware has enabled McFadden’s to become a one-stop shop for our customers.
We have 9 branches throughout central and eastern Canada and have extensive plans to continue growing our company in the coming years. McFadden’s head office is in Oakville Ontario.
In 2006 we were proud to become part of the Würth Group Inc. This partnership with over 200 companies worldwide will help McFadden’s in its goal of being an dominate distributor to the industry in Canada. Our growth is due to our out- standing commitment to service, our exceptional employees, and the strong relationship we have with our valued customers and suppliers.

Beside Prof. Reinhold’s day to day duties at Würth, he also has a true passion for the Arts. His commitment to the Arts has enriched the German Region where the company is headquartered in Kunzelsau.
This passion began in the 1960’s, where he started collect- ing works of art. One of the first acquisitions was a watercolour painting by Emil Nolde, a German-Danish painter and printmaker. The watercolour is titled, “Cloud Reflection in the Marsh”.
The Würth Collection now comprises over 18,000 works of art from the 15th Century to Modern and Contemporary works, primarily paintings and sculptures. The Art is regular displayed to the public in five museums in Germany and ten associated galleries of the Würth Group across Europe.
What is The Würth Group?
The Würth Group consists of 4 levels of Boards within the organizational structure.
1. Supervisory Board
The Würth Group is a family-owned business. As early as 1987, the company assets were transferred to various family trusts. The Supervisory Board is comparable to the supervisory body of a German listed company.
2. Advisory Board
The Advisory Board is the supreme supervisory entity within the Würth Group. In addition to advising on strategic matters, it is responsible for approving corporate planning and the use of funds, and appoints the members of the Central Managing Board and the managing directors of the major companies.
3. Central Managing Board
The Central Managing Board – comparable to a board managing a group holding company – is the top-level decision-making body of the Würth Group. Its most important tasks include strategic planning, the appointment of executive personnel, and the operative management of strategic business units and functional areas.
4. Executive Board
The Executive Board forms the operative management level of the Group within the framework of the guidelines specified by the Central Managing Board. This 2nd management level consists of the Executive Vice Presidents (EVPs) and the Senior Vice Presidents (SVPs) who report directly to a member of the Central Managing Board. It is not the tasks or the operative responsibility that sets the Executive Vice Presidents and the Senior Vice Presidents apart. Essentially, the Senior Vice Presidents have the same reporting duties and rights to information as the Executive Vice Presidents. The principal distinguishing feature is the lower span of control (sales volume and/or companies/countries they are responsible for).
